Every Mormon kid got a CTR ring, and almost none of them know it came from three separate committees fighting over credit for decades — the "Choose the Right" hymn from 1909, Gordon B. Hinckley's 1970 primary announcement, and jeweler Coy Miles, who claimed the whole thing was his idea.
